But wait...I have some questions
When is it the right time to start therapy?
If you are here, the answer is probably right now. But honestly, the right time to begin therapy is when you feel ready. Readiness can look different for everyone. Maybe you’re at a breaking point and struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe you’re navigating a big life change and need extra support. Perhaps you feel generally okay but find yourself stuck, unable to move past a certain barrier. Or maybe you want help noticing patterns and making sense of what you’re experiencing.

All of these are valid reasons to start therapy. And I recognize that you may not feel 100% ready and that’s okay! It begins with me getting to know you, so that you can begin to know yourself more fully in return.
Therapy is about starting the conversation, exploring what’s on your plate, and working together to bring clarity, healing, and growth.
What should I look for in a therapist?
It’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with and who understands your needs. Consider factors like their specialties (e.g., anxiety, trauma, relationships), therapeutic style (structured vs. conversational), and practical details like availability, insurance, and fees. Trust your instincts—feeling safe and heard matters most.
For me, I like to bring in humor, analogies, and pop culture references when they feel helpful. My style is primarily conversational, but I can also be structured when we’re working through something specific. Each session may look a little different from week to week, depending on what you need. I ask questions to better understand your perspective, and sometimes we’ll laugh together as a way to cope. Other times, I’ll sit with you in the heavier moments so you can truly feel and process what’s happening. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a balance of support, insight, and realness.
What happens in the first session?
Your first session is about getting to know each other. I’ll ask about what brought you here, your goals, and your story. You’ll also have the chance to ask me questions. Think of it as a conversation, not an interview—I want you to feel comfortable being yourself. You don’t have to share everything all at once. Sometimes we’ll move slowly, sometimes you might surprise yourself with how much comes out. Both are completely okay.
How long does therapy usually last?
The length of therapy depends on your goals and what you need right now. Some people come for a few months to work through something specific, while others find ongoing support helpful as life continues to shift and change. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is meeting your needs, whether that means short-term focus or longer-term growth.
What if I don't feel like it's the right fit?
Finding the right therapist is a little like dating, it has to feel like a good connection. If something doesn’t click, then let’s talk about it! I welcome those conversations because your comfort and growth are what matter most. I’ll do my best to adjust, and if you still feel like another therapist might be a better fit, I’ll support you in finding that. You deserve a space that feels right.
How do I get started?
You can start by reaching out to schedule a consultation or first session. From there, we’ll talk about your needs, answer your questions, and begin building a plan that works for you. Even if you’re not 100% ready, that’s okay—sometimes it just starts with a conversation.

For those without insurance, my self-pay rate is $120 per session.
